The nose on this wine is all about primary, juicy red fruit. There are roses, red cherries, even a touch of lavender and violets. Quite a beguiling nose. On the palate, there are layers of red fruits as well as a much darker, broodier underbelly on the mid-palate but for now, this is all about accessible juicy red fruit with a very mineral/honed structure that is completely woven into the wine already. A brilliant and exciting wine.
Monforte d'Alba. A little more floral and elegant on the nose than this producer's Bussia. Same on the palate, skips across the palate with chiselled tannins and attractive minerality. Has a lovely texture as well – refined. Should bloom in bottle. 2022-2031
