A reluctant but pretty and nicely layered nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, whispers of the exotic and cool floral scents. There is again excellent volume and solid power to the stony and gorgeously textured flavors that possess almost painful intensity while delivering impressively good persistence. This is really lovely and particularly so for the youngish vines.
Exhibiting aromas of pear, white currant, fresh melon and peach, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée is full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a textural attack that segues into a deep and concentrated mid-palate that's underpinned by racy acids, concluding with a long and chalky finish.
