Fresh lemon and lime, this dances on the palate perhaps because I am tasting it after two weighty Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeots. Super balance here, some lime-blossom mixing in with fully ripe fruit, but there’s an essential elegance, which I like and is frequently missing in Puligny in 2019. Tasted: October 2020
Pale lemon in colour. There is a sense of weight and power on the nose here, but the aromas are stony and savoury rather than fruit driven. This reveals itself on the palate, with preserved lemons and roasted peach bursting through. This is pithy and tense, with a moreish savoury edge building through the mid palate. Long and lightly toasty on the finish, retaining a tangy citrus note.
