Côte Rôtie La Landonne, Domaine Jean-Paul Jamet 2018

Tasting Notes

There's a chance the 2018 Cote Rotie La Landonne will be bottled on its own, so I've given my impressions for it separately. Tasted from a demi-muid, it's complex and complete, with mocha shadings over dark fruit. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it's velvety and long, with intriguing licorice notes on the finish. It would be a star in any cellar.

Deep colour and dark fruit come with a liquorice-scented edge of blackberry and dark cherry. Sleek and opulent, this is highly polished and refined, a very well-made wine. Hints of spice and vanilla, the youthful generosity shows off the ripeness of the vintage. I want a little more bite. (TP)
