Tasting Notes

The 2016 Barolo Ginestra captures all of the breadth and power of this highly regarded Monforte site. Black cherry, orange peel, dark spice, menthol and licorice are all wrapped together. Rich and potent, with firm tannins and a classic sense of structure, the 2016 bristles with real intensity in all of its dimensions. There is real substance and plenty of personality here. Drink between 2024-2041.

Monforte d’Alba. Will be released only in 2021, because Ginestra needs more time and is conceived as Riserva quality.Lustrous mid ruby. Intense nose of brooding, fresh, ripe fruit and saline-minerally notes. Succulent, concentrated and perfectly balanced with supple acidity and rich, coating tannins on the finish. Amazing length and freshness. Drink between 2024-2038.
