Sam Weaver's Sauvignon Blanc is reliably one of the best value white wines on Farr Vintners list. The attention to detail makes this a precise, fine white inspired more by Sancerre than by its neighbours. The latest vintage continues in the style that our customers have loved for over a decade. Lightly-tinged with a bright lemon colour, the nose offers an added ripeness over last year, bursting forth with notes of passion flower and ripe lemon fruit with a tropical edge over hints of cut grass and petrichor. This fleshier, energetic fruit follows on the palate but is matched by mouthwatering, tangy acidity. The result is a wine of balance and precision that is refreshingly moreish. The cool, savoury edge remains, built into the texture of the wine and nodding to the great whites of the Loire. Long and vibrant on the finish, it delivers once again in 2021. Drink now, or over the next two years.
Pale straw. Exotic tropical-fruit notes on the nose. Then a bit of herbs and fruit on the follow-through. Some delicacy and stoniness. 2021 – 2023
