Tasting Notes

The first vintage of Farr Vintners' new own label Margaux. This wine comes from one of the most famous châteaux in Margaux. It is matured in oak for 12 months ahead of bottling. The magic of the 2019 vintage is woven into this wine, with a deep ruby colour in the glass before superb, fragrant fruit on the nose - tones of black cherry and cassis come together with more floral violet tones and hints of woody herbs. The palate is very smooth, the tannins already melting into the wine and allowing the bright core of blue and red fruit to shine. This succulent and fragrant example is ready to go - particularly with a light decant - and it will drink well over the next 5-8 years. Superb Margaux typicity in a moreish, quaffable form. A strong debut!
