Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Mount Pleasant Maurice O’Shea Shiraz offers slightly restrained notes of ripe plums, black cherries and mulberries with hints of loam, tree bark, black pepper and game. Medium-bodied, taut and muscular at this youthful stage, it has a firm level of grainy tannins and good backbone of lively acid, finishing long with some oak poking through. Consider drinking it 2013 to 2023+.
Blueberry, fruit cake, milk chocolate, black liquorice. Very savoury finish after all that ripe fruit. Slightly spiky acid.
