A cool, pure, elegant and equally restrained nose grudgingly reveals notes of green apple, acacia blossom and citrus rind. Once again there is very good volume to the delicious middle weight flavors that possess a sophisticated texture and an abundance of minerality that builds in intensity on the bitter lemon-inflected finale. This youthfully austere effort is quite tightly wound and while it needs to develop better depth, my projected range implicitly assumes that it will.
Dancer's 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is his finest premier cru this year, unfurling in the glass with scents of citrus oil, crisp green apple, white flowers, beeswax and crushed chalk. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, with a racy spine of acidity, exceptional texture and concentration and a long, mineral finish.
