A new wine from Pieropan, this blend of five vintages – 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 – celebrates the five years it took to build the estate's new winery. Aged on the lees in cement, the wine was bottled at the end of 2020. It's bursting with ash, stone, melon, peach, papaya and pineapple aromas. Intense and chiselled, there’s a prominent mineral character here, joined by juicy exotic fruits and aromatic floral notes. A big wash of fresh, saline acidity runs through the core, taking it to a very long, elegant, lifted conclusion.
A blend of the five vintages spanning 2008 to 2012, bottled in 2020, this magnificent wine serves to remind of the ageing potential in Soave when properly handled. Pale lemon-straw in the glass, there is an intoxicating nose of beeswax, struck flint, citrus peel and peach skin on the nose. The palate is remarkably youthful, the citrus and stone fruit notes pushed to the front. Fleshing out on the mid palate, honeysuckle and more struck flint add layers of complexity before the vibrant cut of acidity comes through. This is very fine, intense yet always precise, with a long, lifted finish. Excellent.
