Cropped at derisory yields of 15 hectoliters per hectare, the 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Lavrottes unwinds in the glass with aromas of raspberries, cherries, Indian spices, orange rind and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a long, mineral finish, this is a terrific cuvée in the making.
Firm reduction. The rich, bold and solidly powerful medium-bodied flavors flash good minerality on the muscular, youthfully austere and impressively long if decidedly compact finale. I would advise not touching this for at least 5 years as it's pretty tightly wound.
