Kelder Steen Chenin Blanc, A.A. Badenhorst 2019

Tasting Notes

Adi Badenhorst used to sell the grapes from this block next to the cellar to Delaire Graff until he realised how good they were. Flinty, stony and appealingly reductive with wild yeast and umami notes, impressive focus and mouth-watering acidity. 2021-29

Again, appealing 2019 the most obviously pretty of these superb chenins, with pure aromas (peach, even yellow apple) & subtle fruitiness of flavour. But a controlling mineral, stony freshness ensures a vibrant harmony. All these in larger older barrels for about a year.
