Aromas of pitted cherries, grilled herbs, overturned earth and whole nutmeg. Medium- to full-bodied with structured, sturdy tannins. Fresh acidity lifts up the savory fruit and sweet spice. Very good intensity and depth here. A bit of chew at the finish. Best after 2023. Screw cap.
Tasted by Cassandra Charlick. Density of flavour and plushness of fruit, including blackberry, alongside spiced fruit cake and a nice, stalky tension. There's a degree of opulence, with the fruit weight and ripeness understandable given the warmer year. Fresh acid drive and with fine, silty tannins, this is a lively and energised iteration of the variety, yet with a plush fruit complexity and a mineral weave throughout. Oak is used judiciously, and there is a lovely warmth and tonal spice. An inviting and comforting Margaret River Shiraz.
2% Malbec. An excellent vintage for the region. Abundant marri blossom kept the birds off the grapes. 20% whole bunches. 30% new oak for the first stage of maturation of individual lots then, as usual, blending and the blend was aged further, being bottled in early December 2021. Very reticent nose and still a baby – much more so than the 2019 Siblings Shiraz). Not really that communicative at the moment. It’s all buried! Acidity and finely extracted tannins dominate the fruit. Lots of energy but it’s all tightly furled at present. 2025-2040
