Tasting Notes

The 2022 Riesling Scharzhofberger Spätlese has an alluring flicker of bergamot on its citrus-scented nose, green-tinged, highly aromatic and not too distant from tart but perfumed passion fruit. The palate brings Mirabelle compote, sweet but laced with citrus freshness. The mouthfeel is super-fine, heightened, like being inside a cloud of fruity, citrus-perfumed, moist air. This is ethereal, scented and elegant, with a headily aromatic finish full of citrus allure. (Sweet)

(Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese) AP: 06 23. The 2022er Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese is a sweet wine which has a restrained yet very elegant nose of vineyard peach, minty herbs, Conference pear, and acacia. The wine proves delicately smooth and ripe on the creamy and smooth palate. The finish leaves a fruity and smooth feel of fruits and is superbly intense and long. This Spätlese will need more than a decade to release all its complexity and integrate its elements. 2037-2062
