The Clos Vougeot was spared after late pruning. Half whole bunch and half new wood, two of the four barrels. A fine bright crimson purple. A wealth of fruit supported by a little bit of well chosen oak makes up a very stylish bouquet. Remarkably enticing for Clos de Vougeot, floral, dark raspberry, brambly from the whole bunch, fine and stylish tannins. Very impressive. Drink from 2028-2036.
A wonderful Clos Vougeot. This deeply-coloured wine has a lovely ripe plummy blackberry fruit and notes of spice, rose petals, and slightly herbal, earthy edge notes. The abundant complexity is complemented by a silky texture, balanced acidity, and impressive length on the palate. Produced from vines in the Grand Maupertuis section of the clos that were pruned very late and thus avoided frost damage. The wine was fermented as 50% whole clusters, and aged in 50% new casks. Marvellous. (Drink between 2025-2045)
