Gin

Gin can trace its origins back to 11th century monks, who distilled spirits with juniper berries. It has come a long way from these beginnings, from being used as a medicine (albeit a thoroughly ineffective one) during the Black Death, to becoming the most popular drink in England in the 18th century.

Today gin is undergoing something of a renaissance, with many superb variations on the market - most having been distilled with weird and wonderful botanicals to give them a unique flavour.
