Aromas of cherries, kirsch liqueur, and sweet berry fruit jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, seductive St.-Emilion that is all elegance and charm in its fruit-driven personality. While there is not much weight, body, or power, it is a delicious wine for drinking over the next 8-10 years.
Tasted blind at Farr's 2002 Bordeaux tasting. Light red-berried fruit, earthy and toasty with a touch of brett that does not subdue the fruit too much. Moderate definition. Medium-bodied with notes of raspberry and wild strawberry, interlaced with slightly bitter tannins and some attenuation towards the finish. Not bad overall, nor particularly memorable. Tasted October 2009.
Blackberry, vanilla and cherry aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a fresh finish. Very pretty indeed. Love the length to this. Still tightly wound but should open nicely with bottle age. Elegant and refined. Fine winemaking. Best after 2007. 1,750 cases made. (JS)
Drink 2009-15 Very dark crimson. Not quite clean on the nose. More like sweet red wine than St-Émilion. Underperforming. 'Nice picnic wine', suggested Stephen Browett of Farr.
