A blend of Abbaye de Morgeot and Francemont. Medium deep yellow. The nose is a little biscuity and a little backward. Then there is surprising weight, largely yellow plum fruit, very good fruit/acid integration, and fair length. This wine does indeed show the power of the Morgeot terroir. Drink from 2030-2038.
From domaine-owned vines in the Francemont climat. Cask sample. Light nose. A little astringent. Very youthful. Hint of liquorice. It will probably produce the goods eventually but is pretty hard work and austere at the moment.
