Chablis Séchet, Patrick Piuze 2022

Tasting Notes

Pure and precise, the 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet mingles aromas of green apple and white flowers with hints of toasted nuts and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, it's satiny and enveloping, with bright acids and a saline finish. More immediate and demonstrative than usual, it remains one of the highlights of the range.

The hallmark citrus nuances are abundantly present on the nose of mostly petrol, iodine and wet stone. The rich yet racy medium weight flavors possess very good delineation while exuding an appealing minerality on the clean, dry and persistent finale. This balanced effort could also use more depth so a few years of keeping should help.
