The 1986 La Fleur de Gay does not quite have the cohesiveness of the 1985 on the nose, but it still has attractive dark berry fruit, Tiptree strawberry jam, wild mint and molasses aromas. The palate is medium-bodied and quite compact considering its age, with good structure and definition but lacking vivacity toward the strict, buttoned-up finish. Tasted June 2011. Tasting note taken from the Pomerol book by Neal Martin. (Drink between 2019-2021)
