This is a real treat because we only see this wine in the vintages that are deemed superior. The Palladino 2016 Barolo Riserva San Bernardo is a bit shy upon initial inspection, and this comes as a surprise given the immediate heft and power that is associated with this vineyard site in Serralunga d'Alba. That timid approach repays in kind with added layers of complexity and fine aromas that appear carefully with each swirl of the glass. You get lasting aromas of wild cherry, spice, earth and delicate licorice all powered by a significant 15.5% alcohol content. Drink Date:

Dark ruby/red in color, the 2016 Barolo Riserva San Bernardo is savory and brooding on the nose, with notes of leather, tobacco leaf, baked cherries, turned soil, and cigar box. Full-bodied and rounded, it is ample and ripe up front and through the midpalate before its richer and firmer tannins come through as the wine dissipates. It has a good deal of grip and gravelly texture on the finish and is going to drink well over the coming 10 years. It’s a very impressive offering. 2024 - 2034
