Tasting Notes

The 2024 Grüner Veltliner Schütt Smaragd, from weathered gneiss on this famously ventilated site, opens with supple ripeness tempered by a touch of flinty reduction. Superb savor infuses the yeastiness on the palate, which flows with textural pithiness and is imbued with umami notes of yeast. Ripe but never fat, this is an elegant Grüner. (Drink between 2028-2043)
