Black centre with purple rim. The bouquet is too concentrated to make much sense of. Afterwards, on the palate the full concentrated heady, red fruit, cherry and alpine strawberry, starts to show. Firm tannins behind. However, this will all open out. Charles notes that all his Chezeaux wines which are being aged in Gevrey are very backward – at a similar stage to where the Vougeot based wines were three months ago.
