Corton Charlemagne, Moreau, Benoit 2020

Tasting Notes

The 2020 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a more malic nose than expected given the vintage: Granny Smith apples, crushed limestone and a touch of petrichor. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, very good weight, a slight creaminess in texture towards the finish that just compromises the tension, especially compared to the Corton-Charlemagne. Nevertheless, this is an excellent Bâtard-Montrachet, though the Corton-Charlemagne just quickens the pulse more. (Drink between 2025-2040)
