The 1945 is, by all responsible accounts, a magnificent wine. However, the bottle I tasted in October 1995 was brown and slightly maderized, although well-perfumed, but drying out. With any tasting of a wine over 20 years of age, it should be remembered that "there are no great wines, only great bottles." Last tasted 10/95.
