CDP Barbe-Rac, Maison M. Chapoutier 2022

Tasting Notes

A 100% grenache showing class, structure and intensity. On the nose it develops aromas of sweet cherries, candied oranges and wild herbs. Full-bodied with fine, chalky tannins, it’s driven and vivid with a well-structured mid-palate. Elegant and intense at the same time with a long, peppery and energetic finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink from 2027.

Tasted blind. Crushed raspberry and damson nose. Sweet and ripe attack is followed by fine, firm and detailed tannins. There is an earthy mineral note as well as black tea, smoke and dark fruits on the palate. A lot going on here and shows beautiful interplay between salty and sweet. Layered and taut finish. Drink: 2030-2040
