The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru has a very small reduction on the nose, but the fruit is very pure. Darker in fruit profile than Georges Noëllat's Les Suchots, the oak here is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine, saturated tannins, perfectly judged acidity and cashmere texture. It may have undergone just a little too much maceration in the winery, as there are some exotic traits toward the finish, but it is a seductive Vosne-Romanée that will age supremely well in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2027-2050)
Bright fresh purple. A little polished oak on the nose, sitting glossily on top of quality fruit. The fresh zesty red fruit, some cherries, otherwise a mix of red berries, is absolutely gorgeous from the moment the wine goes into the mouth. Then there is a lightly saline crystalline thread through the middle. World Class. Definitely a candidate for being the wine of the tasting.
