Tasted blind at Southwold ’06 Bordeaux tasting. Boy oh boy, has this wine not duped me after an indecisive barrel showing. Here in bottle, the Latour-a-Pomerol has wonderful definition and clarity on the nose that blossoms in the glass: wild strawberry, red cherry cheesecake and rose petals. Lovely. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, very harmonious, a little more backward but good meatier here. Very focused and persuasive on the silky finish. Wow. Tasted January 2010.
This is a sexy, soft, round wine with notes of sweet red and black fruits intermixed with hints of truffle, tobacco leaf, and spice. Medium to full-bodied with sweet fruit and a savory mouthfeel in an up-front, forward style, this wine needs 2-3 years of cellaring and should drink up to 15 years or more.
Raspberry and floral aromas through to a medium-to-full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a chocolate, cream and cedar aftertaste. This has mellowed with time. Best after 2012.

Bright crimson. Rather simple red fruit aromas so far. Very fine tannins. Rather a relaxed style of wine - even languid. Just easing itself on to the palate. Bit of a lounge lizard and could be hugely enjoyable.
A deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by scents of vitamins, smoke, black fruits, and meats, moderately high tannin, impressive concentration, and plenty of structure. Forget this 2006 for 4-5 years, and drink it over the following two decades.
Displays some berry and chocolate character. Full-bodied, but with a slightly hollow center palate. Long and chewy, with good tannins for the vintage.
