Tasting Notes

Font Sane's 1998 Gigondas possesses a dense ruby/purple colour as well as low acid, supple, concentrated, black cherry and berry flavours, with licorice, smoke and minerals in the background. A blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 3% Cinsault and 2% Mourvèdre, this powerful effort should drink well for 10-12 years.

Medium deep colour with attractive black and red cherry flavours merged with hints of tar and licqorice. Medium bodied, the palate is rich and spicy. A little closed at present and so would benefit from decanting. Very good value. (November 22, 2002)
