CDP Vieilles Vignes, La Milliere Chateau 2005

Tasting Notes

An exciting effort from this estate is the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes, which is a blend of 60% Grenache and equal parts Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Counoise. The wine has a deep plum/ruby/garnet color and an expressive nose of blue and red fruits intermixed with some incense, pepper, and spice box. It is full-bodied, lush, with terrific fruit, silky tannins, and decent acidity. This is a wine to drink over the next decade.
