Clos de la Roche MCMLV, Domaine Hubert Lignier 2022

Tasting Notes

Firm reduction completely dominates the nose save for a hint of wood toast. The super-sleek and more mineral-driven flavors possess excellent mid-palate density as well as a taut muscularity before concluding in a moderately austere and more complex finale that is just a bit more persistent. This isn't quite as powerful as the regular cuvée but it is noticeably finer. Note: noted on the back label as "Hommage à Grand Père Henri Lignier"; from a .29 ha parcel situated on the southern border of Monts Luisants that was bought in 1944 but not planted until 1955, hence the Roman numeral designation Drink: 2037+
