Very dark crimson still with only a hint of age on the rim. Intense nose with a hint of mint. Complex, round and integrated with plump plummy fruit but a dry, peppery finish. A sort of Hermitage style of vintage port. A vintage unfairly overshadowed by the 1977 – although it’s a very irregular vintage with some poor examples. Lovely dry sign-off but lots of fruit as well as the tannins. A bargain! Really vigorous. 1998 - 2015
