An attractive and seductive style of wine, the 2005 Réserve de la Comtesse has lots of black currant fruit, earth, spice and a touch of oak. It is easygoing, seductive, and best drunk over the next 7-8 years. Drink: 2015 - 2023
Tasted blind. Blackish crimson. Sweet, fragrant nose. Should have a lively future ahead of it even though it’s drinking well already. Very Pauillac!
Drink 2016-2034
Deeply extracted, even quite tannic fruit at first, then a more fleshy seductive style takes over. Drink 2009-18.

Currants and blackberries, with hints of minerals. Medium- to full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. A very Cabernet wine. I like it.
Very deep crimson. Thick, yet fresh on the nose and wonderfully easy to gulp already - very Merlot - dangerous for its future development? Certainly extremely forward. Lively and lovely but very low in tannins - some fine tannins on the finish but utterly 'easy' and friendly. Not desperately long. Contains 11 per cent Petit Verdot. (Second wine of Pichon Lalande.) Drink 2010-16
