Picked on October 4th and 5th and vinified in large oak (the 1,500-liter Stockinger vat in which the Loibenberg used to be fermented), the 2017 Ried Kellerberg Riesling displays a very flinty and reductive bouquet of crushed stones and white stone fruit aromas. Aged on the full lees until May and bottled in July, this is a full-bodied and structured, tannic and minerally Riesling with good power and energy and great elegance. Still very young and with great tension. Tasted in Oberloiben/Wachau, September 2018.
