Tasting Notes

Very fine, bright fruit and fine stone/slate perfume flavors open the noble 2014 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese (AP #23). This is a full-bodied, round, intense, piquant and kicking Wehlener Sonnenuhr with a very juicy and intense sweetness, but a lingering minerality. Very sophisticated and complex, this is extremely promising. Don't drink before 2022, but certainly before you die.

Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate (223), March 2016

This delivers an absolutely gorgeous feel of yellow peach, dried herbs and spices on the nose and delivers these with comparatively powerful presence on the palate. The wine is quite lively and deliciously well balanced on the palate. Smoky and earthy herbs drive the rather intense finish. We would not be surprised if this could develop even further with bottle age and gain in precision and focus with age. Still, it is already very impressive as it is! 2024-2044
