An acacia, spice and earthy nose complements the rich, round and frank medium-bodied flavors
that are unusually generous, all wrapped in a sappy, delicious, long and complex finish. This is not especially elegant but it is a complete effort.
Ginger and apple aromas are lifted by stony minerality. Broad, concentrated and ripe, with an open-knit texture in the style of the year. This sweet, supple wine is not especially high in acidity but offers a more pleasing balance than the 2008 version. Finishes with impressive length.

Made from 40 year old vines planted on a clay and limestone soil in the higher central part of the appellation. Fermented in horizontal stainless steel tanks and then transferred 80% into large oak foudres and 20% into barrels - but none of them new. This is a Chablis of real precision. A bright, vibrant colour. Limes and other citrus fruit on the nose. The palate is lean, focussed and fresh but with some complexity and biscuitty notes. Real definition and focus. Classic Chablis crying out for a dozen oysters.
Quite full and racy and lovely and lip smacking. Not at all fat like so many 2009 Chablis. Fabulous textbook Chablis. GV [great value] Drink 2013-2018
Terrific if you don't like oaked wine. Rich, but with a crisp backbone. You won't be disappointed with this bargain.
