La Romanée, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair 2021

Tasting Notes

A wonderfully spicy if decidedly restrained nose grudgingly presents its aromas of exotic tea, cool red cherry and sandalwood. There is a beautiful inner mouth perfume to the delicious and almost painfully intense middleweight flavors that exude an almost pungent minerality on the balanced and strikingly long, youthfully austere and balanced finale. This is really lovely with a Zen-like sense of harmony and a wine that should age gracefully for up to two decades. (Drink starting 2036)

An even mid ruby red. Classical fruit on the nose, no whole bunches, but there is a youthful and effervescent verve to this wine. This remains extremely tightly wound with a long and concentrated finish. One of the wines which really needed more time in the glass to show all its paces.
