Once again the nose is exuberantly fresh and bright with its blend of cool red and dark berry scents that are trimmed in soft spice, earth and oak wisps. There is again good size, weight and powerful to the elegantly textured medium weight flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract while exhibiting excellent length on the dusty and youthfully austere finale. This is very much built for extended keeping so bear that in mind should you choose to buy a few bottles. (Drink starting 2035)
The 2023 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is pure and seamless, bursting with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, vine smoke and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, suave and enveloping, with a cool core of fruit, supple tannins and a long, saline finish, it's particularly charming this year.
