Ignis hails from a warmer, north-facing, 2.4-hectare block on granite soils in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Ethereal and enticingly perfumed, it's a seamless mixture of clones 113, 115, 667 and 777, with haunting rose petal and cinnamon aromas, detailed tannins, mouth-watering grip and minerality and flavours of wild strawberry and pink grapefruit. One of the Cape's best Pinots. 2026-32.
This is unmistakably Ignis in the lineup of Storm’s Pinots. Ethereal aromas of sweet cherry, cola cubes and oud mingle with dried strawberry and stones on the fine-boned, silky palate. This has lovely poise to it, flowing across the tongue with coffee bean and some darker fruit adding base notes on the mid-palate. Ultra fine tannins complement this fine-boned yet flavour-packed and seriously moreish Pinot.
From an Upper Hemel-en-Aarde vineyard on granite. Matured for 12 months in 228-litre barrels, 24% new. Cranberry, strawberry, a pretty fynbos note and white pepper on the nose while the palate is concentrated and vital with fine tannins. More mid-palate presence than some vintages of this wine (alcohol is 14%) without forfeiting its characteristic tension and drive.
