A restrained application of wood is unobtrusive and does not impede the expressiveness of the gorgeously spiced black cherry and cassis infused nose. The rich, powerful and robust large-scaled flavors possess excellent mid-palate density and plenty of extract that imparts a suave mouth feel yet the overall impression is a wine of focus and exquisite balance and persistence. This marvelous effort will require plenty of cellar time and I wouldn't consider opening a bottle until at least 2020.
