Vosne Romanée, Domaine Coquard Loison-Fleurot 2015

Tasting Notes

A bright, vivid ruby colour with a smoky, spicy, red and black cherry fruit nose. On swirling in the glass, higher toned red fruits also come through. The palate is pure in raspberry and cherry flavour, framed by silky but peppery tannic structure. Smooth, fine and long, this is classic Burgundy that tames the warmness of the vintage and lingers on a long and lightly smoky finish. Superb balance and length, with classic Vosne structure and character.

Particularly deep crimson. Savoury, relatively layered nose. Some oak just perceptible but the bitter-cherry fruit dominates it. Really quite fine and very energetic. Admirably long and well constructed. A success – and a steal relative to the Cathiard version!
