Here the almost equally cool if slightly riper nose combines notes of white flowers, lavender, pear, apple and soft hazelnut wisps. There is excellent richness to the refined and somewhat bigger-bodied flavors that retain a lovely sense of detail and punch before culminating in a lightly mineral-inflected finish that delivers outstanding depth and length. While the Bouchères seems ever-so-slightly more complete today this may very well catch it in time. In sum one couldn't go wrong owning either wine!
Vines planted 1942. Broad and lively and rich. Good depth – a bit more charming than the Lafon Charmes. Lots to chew on at the end. Really quite tannic on the end.
