Gevrey Chambertin Lavaux Saint Jacques, Domaine Faiveley 2016

Tasting Notes

This is aromatically interesting, and particularly so for LSJ, as there is an exotic character of dried yellow fruit to the otherwise more typical aromas of earth, humus, game and wild dark berries. There is a relatively refined mouthfeel to the tension-filled, muscular and mineral-driven flavors that culminate in a beautifully persistent finish that is moderately austere but not strict. Patience required. Sweet Spot Oustanding. Drink 2031+.

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Pure red fruit on the nose. Supple, succulent and already delicious. The oak is hidden behind the lovely scented fruit. Dry, fresh finesse.
