The 2021 Volnay Clos de la Cave is pretty and ethereal, wafting from the glass with notes of orange zest, plums, exotic spices and dried rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's pure and sensual, with melting tannins and a long, mineral finish. It's from a sloping parcel just below the tree line that's shaded earlier in the evening than climats situated lower down the slope.
