Tasting Notes

The Château St. Cosme 1998 Gigondas (60% aged in tank and 40% in used barrels) offers a sweet cherry and blackberry-scented nose with notions of smoke and minerals. Fat, chewy, medium to full-bodied, and delicious, it can be enjoyed over the next decade.

“Louis Baruel is crafting some of the appellation’s most sensational wines. This wine’s deep purple colour is accompanied by sweet black raspberry, cherry and berry flavours intermixed with licorice, tar, and pepper. Full-bodied and chewy, with a viscous texture, this big, husky, moderately tannic Gigondas is mouthfilling as well as ageworthy.
