Nuits St Georges Les Boudots, Méo Camuzet 2021

Tasting Notes

No stems were added back this year, as they normally are for this cuvée. A full purple colour. Here the nose starts to push itself forward, heady deep red fruit with a touch of vanilla. Fills the mouth without excess, some wood behind, but a pure long and balanced finish. Drink from 2027-2034.

A cool, pure and spicy nose consists of both red and blue pinot fruit, exotic tea and discreet earth-suffused aromas. The rich, concentrated and attractively textured larger-scaled flavors possess even better power on the slightly more complex, lengthy and very well-balanced finale that is also moderately austere. This is an excellent Boudots and one worth a special effort to find. (Drink starting 2033)

This vibrant, delicious wine has a bright raspberry fruit with mineral, spice, and rose petal notes. The wine is not heavy, but the firm tannins and abundant extract carry it to an impressive finish. It is a wine of finesse and elegance. The grapes come from just over the border from Vosne premier cru Malconsorts. The grapes are destemmed and fermented on native yeast before ageing in cask (two-thirds new). This is a wine has the substance to age ten to fifteen years, but will also be approachable young. (Drink between 2030-2050)
