Tasting Notes

A very ripe and pretty nose of plum and dark berry fruit liqueur aromas introduces pure and quite fine middle weight flavors that possess excellent richness, indeed to the point where the mouth feel of the finish is velvety as there is an abundance of tannin-buffering extract. This solidly structured and well-concentrated effort possesses fine balance and outstanding length plus it should amply reward long-term cellaring.

The 2010 Chapelle-Chambertin is cool, dark and totally seductive. Sweet dark cherries, flowers and mint are some of the nuances that flow from this striking Chapelle. The wine is at once inward yet also soft and caressing. Layers of fruit build to the expressive finish. This is a fabulous showing. The 2010 Chapelle was aged in 80% new barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030.
